Anti-microbial Resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change over time and no longer respond to medicines making infections harder to treat and increasing the risk of spread of disease, severe illness and death. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the most urgent global health challenges for the next decade.
