As the Head of the Department of Dental Health Professions Education & Research (DHPE&R) at Army Medical College (Dental Section), I am honoured to lead a dynamic team committed to advancing the standards of dental education. Our department serves as a cornerstone in curriculum design, evaluation, and reform, while ensuring robust assessment processes supported by pre- and post-exam quality assurance. We are dedicated to promoting evidence-based teaching, integrated learning, and continuous quality enhancement. Introduction

The Department of Dental Health Professions Education & Research (DHPE&R) at Army Medical College (Dental Section) plays a central role in strengthening the academic foundation of dental education. The department is actively engaged in curriculum planning, reform, and evaluation, ensuring alignment with contemporary educational standards. It facilitates assessment processes, conducts pre- and post-exam quality assurance, and organizes item analysis sessions to maintain academic rigor. DHPE&R also promotes integrated teaching and learning sessions, supports the development of study guides, and ensures quality enhancement through systematic evaluation protocols. Faculty development is a core priority, with regular workshops, training programs, and short courses designed to enhance teaching and leadership skills. In addition, the department fosters educational research and outreach initiatives, contributing to innovation and evidence-based practices in dental education. Through these efforts, DHPE&R ensures excellence in curriculum delivery, assessment, professional growth, and research advancement.
