Message from the HOD

To keep pace with the continuously changing medical education world, it is inevitable for educationists to upgrade them with novel learning and assessment strategies and implement what has been learnt in classrooms. It has become evident that only those educationists will make history, who understand millennial learners’ psychology and modify their skills to keep them engaged and motivated. To make process of learning interesting for the generation Y and Z, we may keep Behaviorism but at the same time must open our minds to adapt social constructivism.

Interestingly, we have not, yet, reached connectivism due to institutional barriers but Covid 19 pandemic stole the show. It has removed many barriers; removed hesitation in using technology and introduced connectivism to traditional teachers! We should take this divine opportunity of growth as an initiative to start thinking on treading the NO GO AREA i.e., developing hybrid curriculum for undergraduate medical students.

Introduction

Department of Medical Education was established at Army Medical College in 2019, with the mission of imparting evidence-based practice in all academic interventions and advancements defined by national and international accrediting bodies. The underlying philosophy was to foster academic growth in medical students and faculty by setting a benchmark of honesty, integrity, passion and sheer dedication stimulating a paradigm shift as enunciated by PMC, NUMS and college vision.
