Message from the Chief Editor

It is a great honor to be the Editor-in-Chief of the Pakistan Armed Forces Medical Journal (PAFMJ). In addition, I am also proud to be working in tandem with an outstanding team of Joint Editors, Assistant Editors and other members of the Editorial Board. This is an editorial team that is fully engaged and committed to the success of this outstanding journal.

The past years amidst the COVID-19 pandemic have been the toughest that our medical community has ever faced. Among the heroes who have emerged from this crisis are the health care professionals who have risked their lives to serve their patients with utmost commitment and devotion. We at PAFMJ, have endeavored to provide trustworthy and timely research as well as highlight the need for proper protection, training, and wellbeing.

We have streamlined our submission, editorial and production processes to fast-track publication of important research and multidisciplinary educational content. As Editor-in-Chief, I recognize the value authors place on high-quality and unbiased peer reviews conducted in a timely manner and so, have instructed all those involved with the journal to put the relevant effort into providing the highest standard of manuscript review, editing, and publishing.

We have also implemented rigorous peer review criteria which will be reflected in the quality of published articles. In addition, we at PAFMJ are continuously striving to get the journal indexed in important international databases, earn accredited impact factors, and increase our visibility.
